Google has launched an Android App for advertisers to manage their AdWords campaigns. The App is only available in Canada currently, but Google promises to expand support to other countries soon. This is great news for online marketers who will now be able to update bids and budgets on the go and be served real time notifications straight to their Android devices.

WHAT’S NEW IN SEO THIS WEEK?

Title: DuckDuckGo Supports Instant Answers In Four New Languages: French, German, Czech and Polish

DuckDuckGo can now provide instant answers for 9 million different queries that are supported in four different languages: French, German, Czech and Polish. You will see these new answers automatically if your browser is set up to prefer any of the languages. In the coming month they plan on adding Spanish and Russian on the list and are asking users to Tweet or email them to suggest a language.

Ordering food has become even more efficient on Bing! When you search for your favourite restaurant,you’ll be able to click ‘order online’ to launch an ordering service in its local listing that will get dishes delivered directly to you.

Title: Facebook Launches Product Ads

Facebook announced this week that they are launching product ads. These ads will offer businesses multiple ways to highlight different products on Facebook. Businesses can upload their product catalogue and create campaigns targeting certain products to specific audiences, or let Facebook automatically deliver the most relevant products to people. Product ads are available today in the API through Facebook Marketing Partners and will roll out in Power Editor over the next few weeks.

Title: Pinterest reportedly eyes $11 billion valuation

Pinterest is in talks to raise $500 million worth of funding, which is expected to increase the value of the photo bookmarking site to $11 billion, according to a report. With more than 75 million users globally and a new monetisation push — with the offer of promoted pins to all advertisers — the company is showing no signs of slowing down. The social advertising strategy, where advertisers pay for photo content appealing to the user that appears in their regular content stream, is already being pushed out by Facebook and Instagram. Pinterest is also collaborating with other brands, and last week rolled out App Pins, which lets a user share and discover Apple’s iPhone and iPad applications in an easier way.
